She moved to Melbourne at the age of 17 to pursue tertiary education, and studied with Dr Mark McGee. Before moving to Melbourne, she studied with Loo Bang Hean. In 2011, she was awarded distinction in Licentiate Performance Diploma by Trinity Guildhall and was recognized by the Chief Examiner as an outstanding scholar. Recently, after graduating from the Melbourne Conservatorium, she continues studying under the guidance of Igor Machlak. She is also paying visits to her previous teacher, Loo Bang Hean for advise when she returns to Kuala Lumpur. Apart from that, she is also studying harpsichord continuo with Ann Murphy-Morgan. As a music student, Penelope is very interested in musicology, particularly music analysis and historical performance practice. She also has a hobby of learning languages and studying cultural art.
